Winnersh community litter pick (and those bin bags again)

by Prue Bray on 25 March, 2012

It takes a lot to get me to miss the Archers’ Omnibus edition on a Sunday morning, but today was one of those days.  It was the community litter pick.

The Borough and Parish Council jointly organised Winnersh’s event, which was one of many taking place this week.   Lots of people came to help, all 4 Lib Dem parish councillors included (well done guys).    Particular thanks need to go to the cubs and brownies, NAG members and local residents, who were all terrific.

Rachelle and Imogen Shepherd-DuBey and I amassed a vast amount of rubbish from along King Street Lane, particularly by the motorway bridge.   You can see some of the bizarre things we found in this picture, which shows me on the left with Rachelle on the right.

And finally, for those of you who are suffering bin bag withdrawal symptoms, here is the best picture we could get of the 4 types of Wokingham blue bags that are out there.  The one which is the right size is on the left.  It is 40 cm across the bottom.  The others are either 36 cm or 38 cm.  That makes quite a bit of difference when you are limited to 80 a year.

And if there is anyone out there who has a dustbin the bags will fit, get in touch!

Labour is a joke – the Conservative led Council has demonstrated that it cares nothing for the views of the electorate – respect is due.

Prue – please don’t forget Winnersh Scouts who also litter-picked!
