I have just received this from Highways England.
And yes, I know 9th October was Monday, not Tuesday. I am assuming that they mean it starts today, Tuesday 10th, nor yesterday, Monday 9th or they would have sent it yesterday.
All clear?
PS Are we going to reach a point at which every single route out of Wokingham town centre is going to have roadworks on it? Oh joy!
Please find below planned overnight closures and weekend closures of the slip roads at junction 10 where they cross over the M4, where we are currently undertaking work to reconstruct the bridge foundations:
During the closures the following clearly signed diversions will be in place:
M4 eastbound to A329M Wokingham-bound slip road
Standard traffic – road users will be diverted east along the M4 to junction 8/9, circumnavigate the roundabout, re-join the M4 westbound carriageway back to junction 10 taking the exit slip road to the A329(M) Wokingham-bound carriageway
Wide loads – wide loads will be diverted onto the A329(M) Reading-bound carriageway, along the A3290, exiting at the A4 London Road roundabout, circumnavigating the roundabout to join the A329(M) Wokingham-bound carriageway
M4 westbound to A329M Reading-bound slip road
Standard traffic – road users will be diverted west along the M4 to junction 11, circumnavigating the junction, re-join the M4 eastbound carriageway back to junction 10 taking the exit slip road to the A329(M) Reading-bound carriageway
Wide load – wide loads will be diverted onto the A329(M) Wokingham-bound carriageway, exiting at A329 Coppid Beech Roundabout, circumnavigating the roundabout to join the A329(M) Reading-bound carriageway
Please be aware that these closures have been carefully programmed but are subject to change due to the progression of the scheme or unforeseen problems – confirmed dates for the closures will be displayed in advance on signs at the junction.
We would like to apologise in advance for any disturbance or inconvenience caused during the works. If you have any questions, or if you’d like you know about our work please contact us on 0300 123 5000 or email info@highwaysengland.co.uk; or you can visit our website at www.highways.gov.uk/roads
