The lights at the Showcase roundabout have partially failed repeatedly this week.  There have been several accidents, but it is not clear whether there is a connection to the lights failing.

The decision has been taken – wisely, I think, as I suggested it was a good idea yesterday! – to turn off the lights completely and shut the middle of the roundabout until work starts in earnest on Monday to finish the work on the traffic lights that was started before Christmas.

This is safest for cars – but means no pedestrian crossing facilities at the roundabout, so please go carefully if you are walking or are on a bike.
