A quick round up

A few bullet points for you:

I have been reporting pot holes that have appeared since the bad weather last week.  If you have seen some you need to report you can do it via this form from Wokingham Borough Council’s website:  http://www.wokingham.gov.uk/transport/roads/highwaysfault/  or you can ring Wokingham Direct on 0118 9746000

Work was due to start this week on replacing the traffic lights on Reading Road at the junction with Woodward Close (by the M4 bridge).  It has been delayed by approximately 3 weeks.

There is still no news on Hatch Farm Dairies.   Bovis got outline planning permission for 400+ houses, a primary school and a road linking Lower Earley Way and King Street Lane in November 2011.   They can’t build anything but the junctions at each end of the road until they have got further planning approval.  They have not yet submitted an application.   So any building is some way off yet.

And finally,  the Loddon Bridge park and ride was due to close next week due to the lease for the land running out.  But at the eleventh hour it is to be saved – for one more year.  The decision to extend the lease for a further year is to be taken by the Executive at Wokingham Borough Council on Thursday.  The plan after that is to move the park and ride to a site close to Winnersh Triangle station.  At least there it won’t flood and will be able to stay open instead of shutting whenever we get rain.    The only fly in the ointment I can see is that WBC may not manage to move quick enough to get the new park and ride in place before the extra year’s lease runs out….
